CLASSROOM RULES

To maintain a positive, learning atmosphere I have certain classroom rules that I expect all of my students to follow at all times. In my years of teaching experience I have found that the violation of these minimum expectations results in mental confusion and the inability to accomplish necessary and required educational tasks expected of me by your parents, your school district and the State of Michigan.

1.       ALWAYS BRING REQUIRED MATERIALS TO CLASS.

2.                 BE IN YOUR SEAT, WORKING AND QUIET WHEN THE BELL

RINGS—IF NOT, YOU ARE TARDY.  YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE ON TASK AND ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN THE LESSON AT ALL TIMES.

3.                 REMAIN IN YOUR SEAT UNTIL YOU ARE EXCUSED BY MR.

LARSEN—THE BELL DOES NOT DISMISS CLASS.

4.                 ACTIONS AND REMARKS MUST CONTRIBUTETO A POSITIVE

CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT.  BE POLITE TO AND RESPECT OTHERS AT ALL TIMES.   NO ONE IS TO INTERFER WITH ANOTHERS LEARNING.

5.                 OBEY THE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTOR (INCLUDES SUBSTITUTES)

          AT ALL TIMES.

·        RAISE YOUR HAND TO SPEAK

·        FOOD, DRINK & RADIOS NOT PERMITTED

----------------------------------------------------

CONSEQUENCES (PER SEMESTER)

1.   FIRST VIOLATION—Most likely will be handled by Mr. Larsen (lunch detention).

2.   SECOND VIOLATION—May be handled by Mr. Larsen, but may be referred to the principal as per handbook rules.

3.   THIRD (AND UP) VIOLATION—ALL will be referred to the principal for disciplinary measures (as per the handbook).

Repeated and more serious violations will start at a higher level.

*These disciplinary actions are in effect and cumulative for the entire school year.
